The current Mining and Rock Excavation business area – core of the future Epiroc - provides equipment for drilling and rock excavation, a complete range of related consumables and service through a global network. The business area innovates for sustainable productivity in surface and underground mining, infrastructure, civil works, well drilling and geotechnical applications. Principal product development and manufacturing units are located in Sweden, the United States, Canada, China and India.

We are now looking for a Design & Development person to our team in Örebro, Mining and Rock Excavation Service Division - MRS!

Specific tasks and responsibilities
Perform different engineering tasks: Support the Marketing team with development, Bill of Material and technical expertise when creating spare parts and kits.

Support our product managers with development of customized components and product upgrades.

Support Technical Documentation with engineering input in their work to create instructions and manuals.

Support Technical Service with engineering expertise and development of service tools.

Support MRS Training within technical issues and products, i.e. simulators.

Support strategic purchasing with technical knowledge, parts replacement and supplier evaluation. As well as; Support our Customer Centers with technical expertise

Support the creation of a culture within the engineering department to facilitate our actions to increase customer satisfaction.

Development of the engineering department and belonging processes.

Work together with suppliers regarding spare parts levels and creation of kits. Use input from supplier, D&D, service and marketing to determine which parts to supply.

Knowledge and experience requirements
University degree in mechanical engineering or similar knowledge based on experience. Preferably experience and technical knowledge

Personality requirements
Results-oriented. Self-motivated and independent. Creative with ability to think outside the box. Very good communication and motivational skills. To be successful in this role, you must achieve results through good cooperation with others. A structured way of working is vital. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Swedish is also preferred.

Company presentation
Atlas Copco's Board of Directors announced in January 2017 that it would initiate work in order to propose to the Annual General Meeting in 2018, to decide on a split of Atlas Copco into two parts. Atlas Copco will focus on industry and Epiroc will focus on mining, infrastructure and natural resources industries.
